Internship Overview:

The Internship Program provides college students with an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets of event planning and implementation, volunteer management, and community outreach. It will offer experience in the use of current business and development technologies, including the use of computer and software applications. Our internships offer the opportunity to gain professional experience with a national non-profit organization, further develop communication and presentation skills, and experience skills in team teamwork and customer service.


Responsibilities:

Tasks could include things like the following:

  • Work on logistics with various events held throughout the year.
  • Working with and recruiting volunteers for event activities.
  • Assistance with pre-event planning, day of execution, and event wrap-up projects related to any of the events listed above.
  • Helping with follow-up calls and getting in touch with prospects.
  • Assisting administrative staff with tasks such as printing, collating, thank you cards, etc.


Qualifications: 

  • Effective oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to work professionally with colleagues and professional volunteers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment balancing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
  • Meeting management and event management including set up, outlook invitations, copies, catering, logistics, and meeting minutes.
  • Knowledge of business letter writing format, style, and protocol.
  • Intermediate use of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
  • Basic knowledge of Canva is a plus.
  • Reliable Wi-Fi Connection.


Compensation:

The pay range for this position is $23 per hour.
