Job Summary
Under the direction of the College of Design Communications Director, the Communications Coordinator is responsible for working across stakeholder groups to develop and implement multi-channel marketing and communication strategies to enhance engagement with internal and external audiences. The role involves content development, social media management, digital communications, and visual documentation.
This position requires excellent time management, planning, and organization skills to manage multiple projects and ensure timely completion. Key responsibilities include creating compelling articles, maintaining active social media channels, managing email communications, capturing high-quality photos and videos, and designing visual content. The ideal candidate should have strong writing and communication skills, knowledge of social media and digital communication tools, and basic photography and design abilities.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Strong writing and communication skills
Working knowledge of communication tools including Microsoft 365 products, apps and services,
Working knowledge of AP style guides
Knowledge of social media marketing strategies and analytics across various platforms; basic knowledge of digital communications, web and social media management tools including Salesforce, Drupal and Sprout Social
Working knowledge of photography and videography principles and DSLR camera operation
Basic knowledge of visual design principles and software (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.).

Preferred Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or related field. Demonstrated experience with social media management strongly preferred.
