The technical network project manager will assist with the architecture design planning and implementing changes, needing a deep knowledge of network routing and switching.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the bandwidth upgrade project management.
Perform network analysis and design using primarily, but not limited to, Arista and Cisco technologies to ensure minimum impact on services during network refresh activities.
Developing project governance and oversite structure.
Develop/review router/switch configuration templates for the to-be-deployed Arista and Cisco network devices.
Escalate risks to the OTI staff and Executive team; manage all risks to completion.
Perform SNMP, syslog, NTP, and NetFlow testing.
Forecast critical path and provide project plan baseline dates.
Coordinate after-hours changes with various agencies, create change tickets, pursue approvals, and respond to any questions the OTI teams may raise.
Providing regular status reports to exec management and project teams.
Develop and manage project communications plans.
Coordinate team resources and OTI internal resources needed to complete the network and bandwidth upgrade successfully.

Complete router/switch Arista configuration templates for newly deployed devices.
Coordinate after-hours changes with various agencies, create change tickets, pursue approvals, and respond to any questions the OTI teams may raise.
Review/Implement network best practices configuration in compliance with OTI standards.
Must have
Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of networking.
Must have hands-on experience with BGP, MPLS, and OSPF routing protocols in a large environment.
Minimum eight years of experience with Cisco and Arista network installations in multiple-tier configurations that were interconnected over dark fiber.
Experience in deploying Cisco Catalyst / Nexus Switches and NCS routers, with a complete understanding of the limitations of line cards, power supplies, and feature sets.
Mandatory Skills/Experience
Minimum 8 years of experience in the field of networking.
Must have hands-on experience with BGP, MPLS, and OSPF routing protocols in a large environment.
Desirable Skills/Experience
Minimum eight years of experience with Cisco and Arista network installations in multiple-tier configurations that were interconnected over dark fiber.
Experience in deploying Cisco Catalyst / Nexus Switches and NCS routers, with a complete understanding of the limitations of line cards, power supplies, and feature sets.
Experience in MPLS, EIGRP, OSPF, iBGP, eBGP, IS-IS routing protocols
Configuring CORE/PE and CPE routers/switches in mid-to-large organizations or carriers.
Detailed understanding of designing and implementing overall enterprise quality of service solutions, including queuing for Catalyst, Nexus, and NCS products.
Detailed understanding of deploying management protocols (SNMPv3, Syslog, NetFlow, etc.)
Understanding of optical technology theories and testing, including but not limited to fiber types, fiber terminations, attenuation, power transmission, bandwidth, budget, and loss.
Valid/current CCNP certificate.
Strong analytical and conceptual skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional teams and excellent attention to detail.
Highly self-motivated and has a strong customer and quality focus.
Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Experience working with technical and non-technical staff.
Experience reviewing project design and system documents.
Experience designing, including network architectural designs in MS Visio, is desired.
Familiarity with the City of New York network infrastructure environments and processes.
