The accompanist role requires daily availability from 11:30 AM to 12:20 PM and 12:50 PM to 2:30 PM, totaling approximately 2.5 hours per day, not exceeding 500 hours annually. Responsibilities include accompanying high school choirs, supporting solo/ensemble contests, and participating in additional events as needed. Proficiency in piano and the ability to collaborate with a choral team are essential.
Educational/Skills/Experience Required
Education Level - Targeted, job-related education with study in job-related area. Bachelor’s degree preferred and certificate of performance or music education.
Experience Desired – Job-related Experience Is Required.
Other requirements - Ability to perform as a piano accompanist during music classes and required performances, ability to learn multiple pieces of music, and play piano multiple times throughout each day; ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, sort and file material repeatedly on a daily basis. Understand and support the District’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions - Requires prolonged sitting and standing; requires stooping, bending, reaching and lifting; requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials; must work in stressful and hectic environments; requires the ability to handle multiple tasks with frequent interruptions; may require some travel; requires physical and emotional endurance; must be able to work long and irregular hours; and requires regular and consistent attendance and physical presence at the job.
