Job Title: Physical/Cash Grain Broker

Salary: Comensurate with experience, but probably around the 80-120,000USD mark with uncapped commissions


Imperium Commodity Search is confidentially retained by a young and growing inter-dealer commodities broker with a presence in a number of key physical and derivatives markets across agricultural and biofuel/ethanol commodities. With some very impressive hires over the last 12 months, our client is building somewhat of a dream team with a tech backed platform and lean approach to brokerage, allowing their brokers to generate more, spend less time on admin and more time with clients, earning more in the process.

With the commodity brokerage world turning more corporate with multiple high-profile acquisitions and consolidation of desks, our client is bucking the trend and bringing a faster paced, punchier brokerage model to market with multiple cross-sell and up-sell opportunity. With in-house experience at every phase of the grains, ethanol and biodiesel markets, they are able to draw revenue from each stage of the agri trading and processing markets in North America and are seeking brokers who are looking for more independence and support to run their business as their own and increase their revenues and personal remuneration.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain relationships across the physical/cash grains or agri space (corn, wheat, edible oils, soybean etc.)
  • Broker deals in the cash grains and physical agricultural markets across your target geography/asset class
  • Keep up to date with market movements, analysis and news
  • Provide clients with market reports and analysis, pertinent to their exposures
  • Manage relationships with merchandisers, suppliers and farms as well as end users and customers to ensure fluid flows of grains and agri products
  • Work with senior management and other desks to enhance cross-sell capabilities into the biofuels and feedstocks business
  • Attend industry conferences and events to expand business development reach and company reputation/recognition in the target grains and agricultural markets


We'd love to hear from you if you have:


  • 4+ years’ experience in a relevant grains or agricultural asset class in the US/North American or European markets
  • Excellent understanding of market advisory, risk management and marketing in the grains and agri space
  • Network of buyers and sellers in the cash/physical grains/agri space
  • Specific knowledge of regional geographies in the US/North American or European markets
  • Client-centric approach with a personable focus
  • Wider knowledge of agricultural applications beneficial for cross-sell opportunity with the ethanol and biofuels feedstocks team
