General Description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Career Navigator to join our team. The Career Navigator will serve as a guide and mentor to individuals seeking career guidance and support, helping them explore career options, develop skills, and navigate the job market effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with clients to assess their skills, interests, and career goals
  • Assist clients in exploring career pathways and identifying potential job opportunities based on their strengths and interests
  • Provide guidance and support in developing career plans, setting achievable goals, and creating action steps to achieve them
  • Offer resources and referrals for education, training programs, and professional development opportunities
  • Assist clients with resume writing, cover letter preparation, job search strategies, and interview skills
  • Help clients develop networking skills and connect with professionals in their desired fields
  • Stay informed about labor market trends, industry demands, and emerging job opportunities
  • Collaborate with other service providers and community organizations to enhance support services for clients
  • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in career counseling and workforce development


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, human resources, or a related field (preferred)
  • Previous experience in career counseling, workforce development, or related field
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others succeed
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
  • Knowledge of career development theories, assessment tools, and resources
  • Familiarity with job search techniques, online job boards, and employment trends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct
