General Description

The Career Advisor will be responsible for providing guidance and support to individuals seeking career assistance. The ideal candidate will possess excellent time management skills and be able to work in a flexible environment. The candidate should be empathetic and able to understand the needs of individuals seeking employment. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are preferred. The candidate should be experienced in workshop facilitation and able to provide guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, interviewing skills, and career development. The candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team and should be able to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and provide guidance to individuals with different career goals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in identifying career goals and developing a plan to achieve them
  • Provide guidance on job search strategies, resume writing, and interview preparation
  • Conduct assessments to determine clients' skills, interests, and abilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify job opportunities for clients
  • Provide ongoing support to clients throughout the job search process
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions and progress
  • Participate in outreach and recruitment activities to attract new clients


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or related field
  • Experience in career counseling, job placement, or workforce development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
