Job Title: Aircraft Avionics Technician

Location: Backshop Environment

Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Avionics Technician to join our team in a backshop environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of avionics systems and components in aircraft. This role requires an active Secret Clearance due to the sensitive nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of avionics systems, including navigation, communication, radar, and electronic warfare systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure avionics systems are operational and comply with safety standards.
  • Install and integrate new avionics systems and modifications as required.
  • Diagnose and rectify complex avionics system faults using advanced test equipment and diagnostic software.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance actions, inspections, and repairs in compliance with regulatory and company standards.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to address and resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, technical manuals, and company policies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
  • Stay current with advancements in avionics technology and update skills as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or associate degree in avionics, electronics, or related field preferred.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as an avionics technician, preferably in a military or defense environment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain an active Secret Clearance.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Proficiency in using avionics test equipment, hand tools, and diagnostic software.
