The Avionics Technician is responsible for conducting inspections, tests, troubleshooting, repairs, removal, and replacement of aircraft instrument and avionics components and systems using a variety of hand tools and test equipment.
These tasks are carried out to meet manufacturer's specifications, FAR's, industry standards, and Repair Station General Operating Manual (RSGOM) in a safe and organized work area.
Additionally, this position may act as a Qualified Inspector (QI), complete accurate and timely documentation, and communicate and interact with customers regarding aircraft technical issues.
Essential Job Functions:
Troubleshoot, repair, test, remove, and replace avionics and instrument wiring and systems installed in various airframes using hand tools, test equipment, technical documents, and technical reference materials. Order necessary parts to complete the job. Inspect components and aircraft systems as a QI when necessary
Enter a description of work completed on the work order and properly document the removal and installation of aircraft parts and components according to approved data and procedures
Assist bench technicians in resolving discrepancies in avionics and instrument components and systems removed from aircraft. Provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) to less experienced technicians to ensure accurate work
Accompany flight crews to perform in-flight troubleshooting and adjustments, and conduct preflight evaluations of avionics and instrument systems
Communicate and interact professionally with internal and external customers to educate and answer questions regarding the technical functions of the customer's aircraft within the area of expertise
Maintain and clean line maintenance test equipment and work area as required. Operate ground support equipment as necessary
Attend factory and Company technical classes and participate in OJT to enhance technical skills and proficiency. Maintain a technical training log
Be available to provide a continuation of service and act as a point of contact for internal or external customers before or after scheduled work hours
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Avionics Technician I: -
Associates degree in avionics, electronics, airframe/engine maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent required - Minimum one year of avionics, electronics, airframe maintenance or related experience preferred Avionics Technician II:
Associates degree in avionics, electronics, airframe/engine maintenance, or related field, or equivalent required - Minimum two years of avionics, electronics, airframe maintenance or related experience required Avionics Technician III:
Associates degree in avionics, electronics, airframe/engine maintenance, or a related field, or equivalent required - Minimum five years of avionics, electronics, airframe maintenance or related experience required
