Associate Scientist

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate compliance with Human Biological Samples regulations and establish laboratory protocols.
  • Execute histology tasks, including grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
  • Independently design and develop assays and interpret results with minimal guidance.
  • Apply immunohistochemistry principles and assist in developing new methods and technologies.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for solving scientific problems.
  • Conduct technically demanding immunohistochemical and tissue/cell-based experiments.
  • Prepare precise technical summaries, protocols, and documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks.
  • Provide solutions to scientific problems and contribute to project advancements.
  • Ensure correct operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment and shared lab spaces.


Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific field or minimum of 1 year work experience.
  • HT or HTL certification (desirable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project) and relevant computer programs.
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical, hospital, or academic settings (desirable).
  • Computer literacy; basic understanding of immunology/pathology; knowledge of medical terminology.
