Job Description
Health is seeking an associate editor to help us grow the Health.com news, trends and evergreen library. We are looking for an SEO savvy content enthusiast with a passion for all things health and wellness. Day-to-day, you will be responsible for content execution, including sourcing freelance writers with category expertise, pitching new assignments, creating assignment memos, editing, and publishing new content in our CMS. You’ll work collaboratively with the editorial team and the Growth/SEO teams to develop, edit, and update articles. The ideal candidate is familiar with and eager to learn about health and medical topics and enjoys working both independently and with team members.

Pay Range
Salary: $62,400-$65,000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith’s total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives. About Your Contributions
- Research trending and SEO-guided topics for news and evergreen articles
- Work with senior editors to assign the appropriate stories to freelance writers
- Assist on evergreen projects and articles as needed
- Work with social and email teams to disseminate stories
- Help build out an editorial calendar
- Help review writing samples of potential contributors
- 3+ years experience developing and curating digital content for web
- Detail-oriented and deadline-focused with solid proofreading skills
- Ability to clearly and succinctly translate medical jargon and academic speak to a lay audience
- Experience posting or crafting copy for a brand’s social media
- Operating experience with web analytics tools
- Background in health, science, or wellness editorial content preferred
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in journalism or communications a major plus
