General Summary
The primary responsibilities of this position are to champion and lead the operating departments to deliver core manufacturing KPI’s. The Associate Director of Operations owns /leads departmental goals and performance for safety, environmental, quality, production, and organizational development. The Associate Director is expected to promote and direct operational excellence, and all network/ plant initiatives. Maintaining a strong and productive team environment is critical to success. This position directly supervises business unit leaders and production leaders. As a member of the site leadership team, the role plays a key role in developing site strategies, building a culture of performance and managing change.
Principal Accountabilities
- Develop and lead strategies to ensure company and plant goals are attained for safety, sanitation, quality, service, variable margin management, productivity, employee relations and employee development.
- Lead cross-functional teams focused on results delivery through continuous improvement and process management programs.
- Promote a culture of accountability and teamwork. Develop capabilities of frontline leadership through mentoring, training, and coaching.
- Ensure that behaviors, practices and the work environment support a safe workplace by enforcing safety and sanitary rules and principles.
- Create, develop, and sustain a “can-do” climate and high levels of frequent communication, cooperation, rewards and recognition, training, and mutual support among departments.
- Perform in a variety of capacities related to employment decisions throughout the employment life cycle, i.e., hiring, performance evaluation, retention, employee relations issues as appropriate, etc.
- Work with support teams to develop annual budget, optimize resources, and ensure ongoing execution of department plans
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7+ years of experience with a proven track record of exemplary leadership skills, experience in a team- based environment is a plus
- A solid understanding of food processing and sanitation preferred
- Demonstrated results using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies
- Strong interpersonal and people skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to analyze, process high volumes of information and manage multiple priorities in a timely manner with precise attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy and follow through
Working Conditions
Manufacturing environment requiring strict work/safety rules and protective equipment approximately 60% of the time. Office environment approximately 40 % of the time.
Compensation And Benefits
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between
$105,000-$172,200
Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
