The Assistant Director, Grants and Foundations will function as an integral member of the Wexner Center for the Art’s (WCA) Advancement team, reporting to the Senior Director Grants and Foundation and working directly with content specialist within the different departments of WCA, WCA staff, and internal partners of The Ohio State University (i.e. Office of Research, Office of Sponsored Programs, central university Advancement, and unit-based grants teams/personnel) to ensure the development and submission of competitive proposals to private foundation, governmental prospects and all other granting organizations nationally and internationally. Together with the Senior Director Grants and Foundation, the candidate will be responsible for identifying, researching and writing grants and proposals for viable funding opportunities for the Wexner Center for the Arts within and beyond the Ohio State University. Success in this role requires partnering with all WCA units, central university Advancement, and external partners to increase philanthropic support for the WCA.

This role is expected to have exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent writing, editing, project management abilities, and attention to detail. Must be highly self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit; professionally versed in grantsmanship; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects and meet deadlines; versed in use of MS office products; and able to work a flexible schedule. The successful candidate will be a super user of various systems, including Tessitura, TAS (The Advancement System), Workday, DocuSign, among others.

Position manages life-cycle grant activity, from proposal to closeout stage, including all aspects of proposals, grant budgeting, narrative formation, any/all subsequent award reporting, and grant closeout processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related art history or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2 years of experience in developing proposals and securing grants/gifts from private and/or public funders.

  • Experience working in cultural, museum environment and higher education.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $ $53,800 - $71,700 The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
