Trusted worldwide, MITY products are found primarily in banquet, meeting, and event venues in the hospitality, education, government, and church markets.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as Assistant Controller. The purpose of the Assistant Corporate Controller is to assist in overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, compliance, and internal controls.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Support the management of day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Assist in the coordination and management of external audits and examinations, including liaising with auditors and providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Manage treasury for both domestic and international companies.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members within the finance team.
  • Government reporting and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • Manage acquisition, depreciation, and disposal of fixed assets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting
  • CPA preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • Expert knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Intermediate or Advanced skill levels in Excel.
  • Excellent understanding of governmental guidelines tax laws that affect the company
  • Highly organized with keen attention to detail
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in basic office and accounting software programs
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills

*This is a Monday - Friday in person position with base pay plus 10% annual bonus potential *
