Reporting within the Planning and Design department, the Architect prepares drawings, drafts statements of work and is highly involved throughout the construction and planning process. Key responsibilities include reviewing completed drawings of renderings and developing site plans. In addition, the Architect works with design consultants by assisting them to fulfill PHA's requirements and is expected to review and monitor design compliance requirements for assigned projects.
The ideal candidate will be able to construct clear diagrams using AutoCAD. This candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of all steps related to project completion and diligently communicate with necessary people to ensure timely execution. This candidate will also be able to conduct quality assurance checks on a frequent basis in order to ensure regulations are being followed.
Responsibilities
- Create plans and drawings which clearly outline architectural design of project
- Utilize knowledge of engineering, math, science and materials in order to create ideal finished product
- Conduct site evaluations to ensure quality of work and adherence to safety standards
- Oversee and make recommendations throughout entire construction process
- Collaborate with various teams in order to establish goals, schedules and budgets
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in architecture from an accredited college or university with major course work in Architecture or Architectural Engineering AND a minimum of three years of relevant design and building construction experience; Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
Certifications, Licenses
- Architect License and registration will be required within 12 months of employment
- Valid driver license
