The Idaho Transportation Department is currently recruiting for a temporaryAdministrative Assistant I in District 4, Shoshone, Idaho. The successful candidate will serve as support for the Permit Coordinators as well as assistant with needs for related highway projects and additional administrative tasks. Attention to detail, strong communication skills (written and verbal), and analytical skills are critical in this position. Example of Duties
- Assisting in monitoring and managing permit processing timelines;
- Handle, process, and archive permits for access to the state highway system;
- Organize, schedule, and attend Permit Committee meetings so as to ensure that the necessary stakeholders have input into the review and decision process;
- Communicate on a regular basis with the public, local public agencies, and utility companies;
- Provide consultation and assistance to ITD's Maintenance Foreman on permit oversight after the permit is approved:
- Work with electronic files and GIS;
- Other duties as assigned to assist the Traffic and Materials team.
- Good knowledge of office support functions including word processing, filing, composing a variety of business documents, reception, gathering and compiling data, and balancing and coordinating a workload for multiple projects.
