Administrative Assistant

Our client, a Reston-based law firm, is seeking a self-motivated Administrative Assistant at $19/hour (W2) to ensure their office runs smoothly. Bright, team-player, and versatile candidates will be providing a broad spectrum of admin and office organization services. The selected Legal Admin Assistant must possess strong communication skills and be comfortable handling legal documents.

Admin Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Providing administrative support to lawyers in the office
  • Maintain safe and clean reception and kitchenette areas
  • Answering and directing phone calls
  • Maintaining contact lists
  • Monitoring schedules and calendars, remaining cognizant of upcoming deadlines
  • Handling incoming mail and direct to the appropriate personnel
  • Scheduling meetings and take notes during the meeting
  • Prepare mailings and shipments, receive all packages at the front desk and arrange for package pickup with UPS or FedEx
  • Maintain and organize digital and physical client files
  • Generate UPS shipping exception reports and track deliveries, missing or lost packages
  • Assist with maintaining office resources and maintain office equipment


Legal Admin Assistant Requirements:

  • Broad knowledge of how a legal office runs on a day-to-day basis
  • High-level organizational and secretarial skills
  • Team player attitude
  • Familiarity with MS Suite (Excel, Outlook)
  • English-proficient
  • General understanding and knowledge of the firm's case management software
  • 3+ years prior office experience preferred, experience at a law firm is a plus
  • Must be able to lift 35+ pounds
