Summary: Performs clerical accounting activities for Security First Managers. Work involves reconciling bank accounts, reviews incoming payments, applies unassociated payments, and preparing journal entries. Works closely with other members of the accounting department to provide management with reliable information. Provides administrative support to the accounting department.
Duties To Include But Not Limited To
Reviews lockbox reports daily assuring all payments are matched to policies or returned to the sender.
Downloads previous day's paid checks form bank website and clears refund, claims, and commission checks in policy management system
Uploads Positive Pay file to bank for commission, premium refund, and claims disbursements
Monitors stop-pay mailbox and requests stop payments at bank; notifies requesting party of completed action
Reconciles various bank accounts and prepares monthly journal entries for posting into the ledger
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
One year of experience in a clerical or accounting role in an insurance-related company
OR equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
Certifications And Licenses
May be required to possess a valid state of Florida driver's license
