What You Will Do

As a General Ledger accountant you will play a crucial role in supporting the accounting department's day-to-day operations in various functional areas, such as monthly closing, full cycle of accounting with a key workstream in payroll accounting. You will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks while ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow in the field of accounting within the dynamic landscape of a SaaS company. Payroll accounting is a key workstream for this role. Experience is required.

How You Will Do It

Ledger

  • Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Manage and support the full cycle of accounting, including but not limited to, Accounts Payable activities and expense reporting.
  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, trial balance preparation, and variance analysis.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany account transactions.
  • Serve as the primary or secondary system admin and/or SME for various accounting software platforms.
  • Analyze financial data and trends to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial information for various reports.
  • Assist with external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Contribute to and drive forward progress on concurrent and complex projects with minimal supervision.

Payroll

  • Liaise with central payroll processing team to receive and record journal entries and reconcile payroll general ledger accounts.
  • Calculate monthly commissions, ensuring payments are submitted timely and accurately.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data is accurately reflected in the relevant systems and reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of payroll-related reports and documentation as needed.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
