Accountant

UHY is partnering with a great client on a search for an Accountant/Controller to join their team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an Accounting/Controller role and experience with QuickBooks.

The Accountant/Controller role is remote position based out of the Grand Rapids, MI area. This is a Client Direct Hire position.

Accountant/Controller Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and payroll.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Monitor and analyze financial performance metrics, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
• Manage cash flow and prepare cash forecasts in accordance with company goals.

Accountant/Controller Skills/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
• Proven work experience as an Accountant or Controller
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.
• Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
