Accompanist

The accompanist is responsible for providing musical accompaniment for shows and performances during rehearsals and performances. Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision, and Guiding Principles of the District.

Pay and Shift Information

$18.00 per hour

May 13th to May 16th from 5 PM to 9 PM (hours may vary slightly)

May 17th to May 18th from 6 PM to 10 PM

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Accompanies performers at auditions, rehearsals, and performances.
  • Assists with development of the overall, creative approach to music as needed.
  • Assists with the selection and cutting the music (within copyright restrictions) as needed.
  • Research historical/social significance as it relates to the music selected for presentation.
  • Participates in setting rehearsal and concert schedules.
  • Returns all rented materials within two weeks of the close of final performance.
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers in a positive manner.

An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in Instrumental Music and at least one (1) year of experience accompanying shows and performances and/or equivalent combination of education and experience; or combination of training and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, ability, and skills.

  • Mastery of instrument playing skills; reading and interpreting music
  • Effectively convey musical concepts
  • Follow the musical directing/conducting of the Music Director
  • Work independently and efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with a community of artists, volunteers, and participants - children through adult.
