Reporting directly to the Development Director, the Development Associate VISTA is a key member of the DIW administrative team working to ensure DIW’s financial long-term sustainability. This position reports to and assists the Development Director with ongoing development tasks that enhance the organization’s ability to identify and cultivate potential supporters and secure contributions and grants. This includes prospect research, writing solicitation and report materials, gathering documentation, and record keeping for institutional, individual and public donors. In addition, the Development Associate VISTA, at the request of the Development Director, assists in managing DIW’s membership programs (Individual Donor Cultivation/Stewardship and Volunteer Engagement), interacting with members and the public, providing timely communications to members, devising new member campaigns and benefits and service opportunities, and handling member-related record-keeping (database, Boomerang). The Development Associate VISTA collaborates with other DIW staff (Executive Director, Finance, Marketing, School Admin) to produce communications, sponsorship packages, service days and event ideas that will impact fundraising, membership, volunteerism and DIW’s overall position within the community. This position offers the opportunity to become deeply engaged with the fundamental strategic processes and implementation of fund development for a growing, legacy organization with an increasing community impact and social justice at its core.
