2024 has been an stimulating year for me, as a Member of Board of Directors across multiple companies and industries Sunrun, Proofpoint, Imprivata, Ping Identity and non profit City Year. Our learning as corporate directors is continuous and I am thoroughly enjoying engaging in small and large groups Stanford Women on Boards, #Deloitte Bay area women on boards to name a few. Last week was a amazing session with #IndraNooyi ex-CEO of PepsiCo and current Board of Director at Amazon, with her coaching at Stanford Law School. My top 5 takeaways : The board and CEO should be focused on running the company for the life of the company not the life of CEO. Shape the board, don’t stack it. Every board member should frequently evaluate if they are still relevant. Deliberate succession planning for both the CEO and the board is essential. Failures in the sense that, your users who've been defrauded on your platform, cant actually contact you? Failures in the sense that your customer support won't even talk to you if you aren't a driver. I can see information for Drivers, people you want to employ - but where is the contact information for USERS, the people who PAY for your service, maybe even users who have had money used fraudulently on your platform? If i could get through to someone on the phone i'd ask them How is it that your platform allows for credit and debit cards to be used, WITHOUT VERIFICATION?
