I received an award for "Airman of the Year" in the largest squadron on base and the largest group (several hundred people) thereafter. The award is issued to only one [E1-E4] per year and was presented to me for my performance on an overseas tour where I designed, programmed, and implemented an accountability software program involving the scanning of a military-issued ID cards. Its purpose was to ensure all personnels' locations can be quickly ascertained and documented. The program (which is protected under government restrictions and the Privacy Act of 1974) created detailed spreadsheets of all qualifications of multiple hundreds of people and listed those that have yet to be accounted for and where they can expect to be found.
