Be sure to schedule task-free time for yourself. I enjoy long walks where I can daydream and this is how I tap into my creativity. Our brains need breaks, and during these periods of mental downtime, our best and most creative ideas often emerge. Unstructured downtime can lead to our most creative and productive moments. It's when we make novel connection, generate new ideas, and have daydreams that can be personally and professionally beneficial. Plus, downtime supports memory consolidation, converting short-term memories into long-term ones. These moments of disconnection are crucial for problem-solving, tapping into creativity, and overcoming mental blocks. Try taking a walk without multitasking. You may be surprised at the results.
