Here's how you can stay motivated and engaged as a remote software developer.
When I'm stuck on something, I find that taking a walk away from the computer often helps clear my mind a little so the answer can come through. I don't know how many times a walk out on my porch or to the coffee pot has brought a solution out of the depths of my mind!!

Hot take. Junior, mid and senior developers don’t actually exist. It’s all subjective. Not all job roles are equal. Not all companies are…

What's your biggest code trigger? For me it's got to be commented out code. Your git history will have it saved if you ever need it again!

The Green Box: A Collection of Poems and Other Musings
Amazon/Self-Published
A therapy experiment at first, this book is a compilation of poems, journal entries, short stories, and essays that I wrote from 1987 to 2008. In April of 2008, due to a horseback riding accident, I lost portions of my memory. Much of my childhood experiences and many small details of my adult life were simply missing from my mind. I have a green metal box where I stored much of my writing. As a way to help jog my memory, in 2015, I pulled out that box and began to try to remember. Going…
Going through the box and reading each piece, gave me the idea of pulling some of them together into a book. This became a family project with my husband reading each piece, my daughter editing it, and everyone having a little bit of say in the end result. Although some of the writing is not perfectly rhymed and the rhythm lags sometimes, this is a walk through my personal journey through my late teen years, into a young marriage, through the birth of our three children. This book is a look inside me. I hope you enjoy it
