Just as a love letter preserves sentiments felt in a singular moment, Firewood is an intimate installation that attempts to make eternal that which is short-lived. While sitting amidst a glowing LED fire and a canopy of fall leaves from Central Park, participants descend into a parallel virtual-reality landscape where they are encouraged to think about whom they have loved and how they’ve been changed by those loves. At the end, participants may write their own love letter and cast it into the fire, later to be burned or saved by the artist.

"Dollhouse" is a VR installation that was shown at the 2017 Gallatin Arts Festival. Project Statement:

“Dollhouse” is an exploration in environmental storytelling through virtual reality and physical computing. It is a two part project: a physical dollhouse, and a virtual dollhouse. The concept for “Dollhouse” arose from an effort to combine architecture with narrative and interactivity. By translating human interaction with the virtual dollhouse to reactions in the physical dollhouse, viewers are encouraged to observe the person exploring the virtual dollhouse and also to tease out their own narrative from the abstracted physical dollhouse. “Dollhouse” plays with the quirk that allows a person in a VR headset to see or experience what’s going on in a virtual space. The physical aspect of the piece is thus meant to be a complementary experience and not to shadow or be shadowed by the virtual one.

The installation graced the cover of the Summer 2017 issue of Gallatin Today magazine with two additional images of the project on page 6. It can be seen here: https://issuu.com/nyugallatin/docs/gallatintodaysummer17
