You will leverage your expertise in Apptio Cloudability and cloud cost optimization strategies to provide actionable insights, drive cost-saving initiatives, and enhance financial governance. Qualifications: • Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Fundamentals, Google Cloud Associate). • Experience with other FinOps tools and platforms. • Knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices. • Relevant certifications in FinOps (FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Engineer, FinOps Certified Professional) • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. • Proven experience as a Cloud FinOps Specialist or in a similar role with a focus on cloud cost management and optimization. • Hands-on experience with Apptio Cloudability and other cloud cost management tools. • Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their pricing models. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams. • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Cloud Cost Management: • Monitor, analyze, and report on cloud spending and usage across multiple cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Implement cost optimization strategies to reduce cloud expenditures without compromising performance or reliability. 2. Apptio Cloudability Utilization: • Configure and maintain Apptio Cloudability to provide accurate cost reporting and allocation. • Develop and generate custom reports and dashboards to track cloud spending and identify cost-saving opportunities. 3. Financial Governance: • Establish and enforce cloud cost governance policies and best practices. • Collaborate with finance, procurement, and technical teams to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback processes. 4. Cost Optimization Initiatives: • Identify and execute initiatives to optimize cloud usage, including rightsizing, reserved instances, and unused resource cleanup. • Continuously evaluate and recommend new tools and techniques for cost optimization. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration: • Work closely with engineering, DevOps, and other teams to promote cost-aware development and operational practices. • Communicate cloud cost insights and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders. 6. Cloud Vendor Management: • Manage relationships with cloud service providers, ensuring optimal pricing and contract terms. • Stay updated on the latest cloud pricing models, discounts, and service offerings.

Most IT staffing firms have between 20% to 30% of overall revenue placed via secondary suppliers / corp to corp vendors. But they have no program or strategy in place to manage their suppliers.  How can a source of 20-30% of revenue live in the gray area or be allowed to exist without a formal strategy from the top down? No wonder so many risks and issues are associated in the space– Most times the responsibility fall at the desk with the recruiter to set their own process?!?! To make more placements you need to optimize, automate and systemize the supplier process across the entire org and it will lead to greater efficiency and profit. Make suppliers an exec level business priority – because something that drives that much revenue should be more than not just “unavoidable”.
