About

In an exciting career pivot into higher education, I'm delighted to join the incredible team at the Georgetown Law Institute for Technology Law & Policy as Executive Director. The Tech Institute seeks to advance justice, inclusion, and accountability at the intersection of tech and law and is dedicated to training the next generation of lawyers and lawmakers with a deep understanding of technology and policy.

My 20+ years of private practice helped prepare me for this role. I've honed senior-level problem solving, strategic planning, communication, risk management, and leadership skills. National ranking publications recognized my commitment to client service and my ability to distill complicated tech, media, and telecom policy issues into easily digestible advice and advocacy. After founding the D&I Committee at Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP (WBK), I became the Director of Social Responsibility and lead partner on DEI initiatives. I envisioned and built the DSR role working directly with the Managing Partner, raising awareness and driving tangible progress on issues of racial justice, gender equity, accessibility, and LGBTQ+ inclusion in the legal profession.

My nonprofit leadership experience includes co-founding an award-winning organization to address the family separation crisis and promote civic engagement, serving on the board of an NGO dedicated to equity in kindergarten readiness, and launching a chapter of a Muslim-Jewish women's bridge-building/anti-hate group. I have written non-profit policies and advised on governance.

I led the Federal Communications Bar Association's 100+ volunteer leaders and four full-time staff as President in 2020-21. At the pandemic's height, I helped launch the FCBA Diversity Pipeline Program, which in its first two years has paired 50 law students from historically underrepresented groups with paid summer legal internships in tech law and policy. In addition, as a former law school adjunct, I am committed to mentoring and providing meaningful career sponsorship for students and entry-level lawyers, particularly diverse and first-generation law students/lawyers.

I have long been passionate about gender equity in law and tech. I founded the WBK Women's Initiative and created the FCBA Women’s Summit, an annual series drawing hundreds of women from government, NGOs, and the private sector. In 2022, I was re-elected to a second term on the Board of Directors of the Women's Bar Association of D.C., for which I also serve on the Strategic Planning, Membership, and Fundraising Committees.
