Projects

  • M2M Integration

    -

    • Quake Global Q9612 data modem integration with Personal and AVL tracking equipment. Q-Puck and Q9612 which work on the iridium network were integrated with the tracking equipment as a backup data modem using Bluetooth SPP profile. The prototype end to end application was developed and integrated with the tracking server application and successful demos were given to potential customers.

    • Integrating RFID readers with the GSM/GPRS tracking devices to send RFID data to the server along with location information. This was implemented as a part of inventory management scheme for a transportation and logistics company.
    • Implement GPS and Wi-Fi based indoor tracking over 2 way radio communication system. The Wi-Fi tags were developed to periodically scan local wireless information and forward the details to the server over the existing Wi-Fi connection or over 2 way radio text messaging.
    • Integrating Personal tracker with ANT+ sport heart rate sensor.
Project involved development of a personal tracker application with a heart rate sensor, and implement the feature on the tracking server. A GUI was developed specifically targeting personal tracking equipment and its features, and ease of use for emergency call center applications.
    • Integrating GSM location services on the tracking server using Cell ID obtained from the GSM modems, and tying them to personal security software.
    • Integrating CAN protocol with existing software infrastructure.
Project involved interpreting CAN protocols J1939 and ISO 11783, and integrating information available on the CAN Bus of the automobile with the AVL tracking application.
    • Developing and implementing AVL security and tracking applications with IEEE Zigbee enabled tracking equipment.

  • Support Vector Machines for Image classification

    -

    • Techniques like Support Vector Machines and Kernel Logistic Regression were used for classification. Various toolboxes like Libsvm, arsenal, svmlight and spider were studied and their performance was tested for nonlinear classification.
    • ‘SPIDER’ toolbox and ‘libsvm’ optimizer were used in conjunction with MATLAB for classification of texture and hyper spectral images.
    • The project was funded by Department of defense, and two research papers were published based on the results…
