Here are the top three things your brand should be doing when gaining distribution at a new retailer: 1.) Set up Sponsored Search, Shoppable Display, and Sponsored Brands where available for each specific retailer. Most retailers have their own platforms or work through a provider like Criteo, PromoteIQ, and CitrusAd. If your returns don't look good, bring an expert in. It works, it's cost effective, and is proven to drive retail velocities. 2.) Set measurable expectations and key performance indicators of success - think Revenue, Velocity Growth, and ROAS or ROMI but don't pigeonhole yourself to ROAS for a new product launch. When launching a new product, you need to grow awareness, educate about the product, and reach as many people as you can to get the word out. This sometimes comes at the expense of ROAS. ROAS is a great KPI for long term goal setting, but for a key initiative like a product launch or an announcement, shift your focus to driving sales and reach, ROAS will naturally come later. 3.) Engage with a shopper marketing expert to ensure you're putting the right amount of spend into each retailer proportional to your goals, launches, and projected revenues of that retailer

After scaling with 20+ DTC brands, here's what matters... 1. Understanding consumer personas 2. Creative Strategy 3. Testing Frameworks 4. Brand association & elevation 5. Consumer connections off of paid media And all of these pieces tie together and begin with the business goals. → Those goals tell you who your ICP is. → The ICP is used to develop your creative strategy. → Which is the base for your testing framework. → AND all this will show you the areas that paid media can’t cover. → So you know what other marketing initiatives you need to drive forward. (Brand partnerships, in-person activations, Influencer partnerships, press placements & sponsorships all support paid media) If you are strong on these 5 things it will be very hard for anything else to get in your way. Basically, you should be able to answer 4 questions in as much detail as possible. 1. Who is my ICP? 2. How will I speak to them? 3. How will I know if it is working? 4. What can I reach them outside of Meta & Google? The questions are short. But the answers should be long. If you have all of the answers laid out you will scale your marketing. Do you agree?

There isn't a "Select Quantity" dropdown to be found. I missed yesterday's post, but week I'm doing a daily tip to highlight what the top 10 highest-performing DTC brands on Buyist are doing. These are the brands with the highest volume of orders from June 1 through July 15 on Buyist. Today: none of these 10 brands show a product with a "Select Quantity" dropdown, hoping that alone will result in a higher AOV. Yet 9/10 still offer the visitor a choice. For example: "Buy 1" or "Buy 2 Get 1 Free" selection boxes "Buy 1", "Buy 5", "Buy 10" (each with increasing discounts, each a separate button) "Buy 1" or "Buy 1 Get 1 50% Off" selection boxes These DTC brands average 10.6% conversion rates and ALL have used our A/B testing features. I don't think it's a coincidence they ALL offer a choice beyond a Select Quantity dropdown box.
