Twelve years ago, I was given the opportunity to serve with the New York District at Fort Drum, New York for the New York District, US Army Corps of Engineers as the Deputy Program Manager. During that tour, I saw firsthand the integration, friction, storming, norming, forming, friction, integration, and successful delivery of a $2.1B program of design, construction, warranty oversight. What I did not realize at the time was that those efforts were an extension of years of integration and collaboration between the Army Garrison, the 10th Mountain Division, the US Army Corps, and the private sector to plan, deliver, and maintain facilities that directly result in successful training and power projection of a premier US Army unit, and other military units in the region. Now, as then, and as a decade ago, the Fort Drum Team, a dynamic multi component entity, is On Point for our Nation’s Climb to Glory!
