“I met Jeff in 1999 as an attendee of both Black Hat and DEFCON on behalf of my employer, VeriSign. Having missed only a single DEFCON since then, I've watched Jeff continue to build and grow Black Hat and DEFCON with admiration as he has organically improving the delivery of each conference at every opportunity. Though no conference or convention can ever be without it's fair share of chaos and mishap, Jeff continues to deal with issues deftly while simultaneously managing those who manage the 8,000+ ADD-afflicted super-geniuses that attend his events. Hats off to Jeff for his patience, good manner, and his continuing contribution to the community.”

Since then, cybersecurity has been an integral part of the Forum’s agenda. The focus of the Global Agenda Council on Cybersecurity will be to strengthen global security in the cyber age by laying the groundwork for the establishment of international norms on cyberwarfare. This work will build on the Risk and Responsibility in a Hyperconnected World project, which focused on establishing context and tools for a dialogue on cyber-resilience. The project produced guidelines and best practice principles for chief executive officers and other senior executives. These guidelines have already been adopted by over 100 global organizations.
