“I had the privilege of working for Dan for a number of years early in my TEKsystems career. Dan made the transition easy for me. He is a leader who cares about his people and their success and he takes an active role in their development. He always pushes his people to be a better version of themselves through personal and professional development. He always presents new opportunities and challenges and always remains positive.”

How can you improve team performance with trust and respect in team leadership?
Trust is the bedrock of any relationship. It is impossible to lead a highly effective team if you cannot have transparency, candid communications, and trust with those that you lead. On the surface, they may appear to be "following you", but is the distrust you, it is highly likely that they are actually a silent dissenter.

How do you adapt your sales approach to different types of buyers and decision-makers?
In my experience, I have always found that "people like to buy, but they don't like to be sold". Clients are willing to meet with you if they feel you can add value, you are credible and your service is relevant to their respective "pain points". If you cannot articulate your value proposition during your initial conversation, the likelihood of you being able to advance your relationship is greatly diminished in the current economic climate.

What are the best practices for giving feedback to temporary workers?
Over the past 26 years in the IT Staffing space, I have become keenly aware of the importance of feedback to/from your contingent workforce. Silence breeds ambiguity and uncertainty, often leading to poor employee engagement and unforeseen attrition. It is critically important that you establish a consistent monthly cadence with your hiring managers/employees, to gauge work performance, overall satisfaction, what is going well, areas for improvement, etc., and that information is shared bi-laterally. This two-way communication will help you proactively resolve issues, increase employee/client engagement, and play a significant role in your ability ensure a successful placement.
