What are the common challenges to creating effective engagement action plans?
When there is a lack of employee involvement, it is usually due to a lack of communication from leadership. As you are developing programs, it is important that employees feel like they are part of the process. Keep them informed, asked for input and feedback and take what they say seriously. Let them know the process and how programs can be used and implemented.

How do you promote learning and development opportunities for your staff?
As a Career and Leadership Coach, I believe that more companies need to adopt coaching programs within the company. Partnership with a coaching team to provide ongoing support to staff will improve the organizational culture, promote internal hiring, and increase overall satisfaction.

How do you promote learning and development opportunities for your staff?
One thing I've found helpful is asking for ongoing feedback from staff throughout the year. Needs evolve and change depending on shifts and priorities within the company. I recommend conducting a quarterly needs assessment as necessary to keep up on employees needs as they change. Also, encourage your employees to communicate openly about their needs to their supervisors so that managers can provide additional insight as needed.

How do you cope with the changing needs and expectations of your trainees and stakeholders?
During my career as a coach/employee development trainer, I have found that the best input often comes from employees themselves. Employees are the best resource when it comes to developing learning objectives. They are actively doing the work each day and are very familiar with the educational and learning needs for their roles and others. When working with organizations I conduct a training needs analysis and develop the learning objectives that align with employee needs and employer goals. Combining the two has led to increased employee engagement and satisfaction for all parties involved.
