IT TAKES A LIFETIME I’m always amazed how sales people do not utilize a sales coach/mentor. When people want to improve their golf game they hire a coach. If you want to improve your test scores you hire a tutor. Salespeople seem to lack the intuition to see how a lifelong sales professional, if they are willing to help you, have incredible vision to spot what you cannot see. There is no other way to have these experienced eyes than by using someone who has made this their life endeavor. So, if you want to get really good, use a coach. It’s so true we are often very short sighted in biz don’t have real conversations we have superficial conversations abt us what we do how great we are that are kinda meaningless and don’t really lead to much long term opportunity occasionally we get short biz from these surface activities and think we are a master sales person lol not even close people won’t spend real $ with you until you & your company earn it & that my friend doesn’t happen quickly or overnight it’s a process what a real in depth conversation does is get people to open up the more real they are the more you learn the more you can help them the more $ they potentially spend with you if what you offerlng is making the client $ & delivering results

Interesting look at the B2B sales world on Selling Power. There seems to be a strong emphasis on "hunters." 💡 Today’s Slattery Sales tip of the day: Your toughest competitor is the (often irrationally-defended) status quo. In complex enterprise B2B sales, you might expect players to act rationally. 🤓 I’ve seen many sellers enter complex sales expecting that the strongest case, rationally and logically, will win. They believe that as long as they make the best case for their solution over their competitors, then they will win. (Naturally, this tends to lead to a lot of sale-killing behavior like showing, telling, declaring, announcing, persuading, and explaining. The sale then ends up at Wimp Junction®. That’s when they call us. ☎️) 💡But sales are completed by individual human beings on both sides – the seller’s side, and the prospect’s side. 💡Humans have strong rational motives to act in their own self-interest. They have families to support and careers to protect. It’s very possible that trying something new (and failing) could sabotage everything they’ve worked for, so they have tremendous incentive to protect the status quo. This doesn’t make them bad people. But it does make them your natural opponents in your quest to drive something new into their organization. ➡️ As a seller, you are an agent of change. If you have Differentiating Value (DV) for a prospect enterprise, then your solution alleviates very real problems, pains, and consequences that they are living with right now. Your DV may help your prospects carry out their mission objectives; hold their position in the marketplace against competitors; or retain and hire great talent. Your DV makes your prospect better off than they would be without your solution. It’s all abt Creativity during the entire sales process from the start plus hsving great relationships & delivering clients a real RO$ makes a huge difference ! One of The reason I’m probably successful is I’m creative in my approach or try to be creative & always look at it from the clients perspective would I want to talk to me ? lol sales is simple often we overcomplicate it in my opinion ! Creativity can separate good from great ! You often cant teach creativity it comes from the heart mind & soul ! I think abt sales a lot being I’ve made a living at it for 30 yrs ! You can’t measure sales talent it’s innate you can help people go thru the motions but people have ti be self motivated want ti learn & help customers and clients ! Yes mechanics and activity are part of the gig however the best top 20 percent bring something very special to the table ! I’m lucky I figured it out a long time ago & it’s helped me ! Read & Listen ti as much as you can abt psychology sales biz biography’s just expose yourself to as much info insight as you can over time you’ll figure it out ! I try ti read a lot & listen to anything that will educate me abt what I do ! The natural curiosity interest & wanting to learn & help your clients pays off ! It’s a journey enjoy it & have fun !
