Sign-in security prompt for two-step verification

LinkedIn is committed to account safety and security, and provides features to help ensure your account is always secure. One such feature is two-step verification. Enabling two-step verification can greatly reduce unauthorized access to most accounts from new or unknown computers or devices.

As an additional layer of security, LinkedIn may prompt you to verify your sign in through your LinkedIn app when a new device is detected instead of sending a pin code through SMS or an authenticator app. You will receive a push notification prompt on your signed-in device after entering your login credentials into the new or unknown device.

To approve a sign in from a new device:

  1. Go to your device’s notifications and click on the prompt from LinkedIn. 

  2. Tap Yes, it’s me if you initiated the sign-in from another device. Tap No, it’s not me if you did not initiate a sign-in from another device.

  3. Return to your original device and you will be logged in.

If you receive a sign-in security prompt without initiating the request:

  1. Go to your device’s notifications and click on the prompt from LinkedIn.

  2. Tap “No, it’s not me” on the prompt. The sign-in attempt will be denied immediately. You will also be prompted to change your password (recommended) to protect your account.
