About us
YouTube is a team-oriented, creative workplace where every single employee has a voice in the choices we make and the features we implement. We work together in small teams to design, develop, and roll out key features and products in very short time frames. Which means something you write today could be seen by millions of viewers tomorrow. And even though we’re a part of Google and enjoy all of the corporate perks, it still feels like you’re working at a startup. YouTube is headquartered in San Bruno, California, 12 miles south of San Francisco. We also have many job openings in Mountain View, and across the globe

Throughout the last year, YouTube has worked closely with a cohort of 8 trans and non binary creators to shape new features and address challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. Launched back in 2016, the Creators in Residence program (CiR) regularly brings together diverse groups of creators to share their experiences and feedback with our teams. Some iterations of the program are more general, while some are product or community specific. This year the LGBTQ+ residency brought together a cohort of trans and non binary creators to share their perspectives on current and future YouTube products. Last week, YouTube brought together UK-based creators across our Women of YouTube Communities for a ‘wellness edition’ gathering in London ⤵️ Creators Jade Beason, Macerly, and Lorriluxe discussed ‘finding your rhythm’ and shared some advice: 1️⃣ Done is better than perfect, put your stuff out there and let it go. 2️⃣ It's important to prioritise taking time for yourself so that you can have balance in your life. 3️⃣ If you want to build for longevity, you need to focus on doing what you enjoy! Thanks to all of our creators who hosted talks and workshops, and to all those who attended.
