We can’t overstate the importance of data. It has the power to change policies and impact the lives of millions. Less than half of global deaths are documented with a known cause, leading to public health policies shaped by incomplete data. The Data for Health Initiative addresses this by enhancing data on births, deaths, and risk factors for noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). Through robust partnerships with local governments and global organizations, the Initiative saves and improves lives with better health data collection. Learn more about the Data for Health Initiative and the recent additional support by Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation: https://lnkd.in/gdyCCnmh We are proud to partner with Bloomberg Philanthropies and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on the Data for Health Initiative, along with other organizations including Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, United Nations ESCAP, Global Health Advocacy Incubator, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, World Health Organization, Pan American Health Organization, and UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency

Mozambique’s Ministry of Health and Ministry of Justice, Constitutional and Religious Affairs have launched a newly interoperable birth registration and notification system with the support from the Bloomberg Philanthropies Data for Health Initiative. The new system will help ensure no baby leaves a hospital without a legal identity and the rights that identity guarantees. By integrating notifications across digital platforms, Mozambique is strengthening its civil registration and vital statistics system and signaling their commitment to preparing for the digital future. #CRVS #DigitalTransformation #Data4Health

The rate of overdose deaths among Indigenous people in Wisconsin is four times that of the general population. We’re supporting the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa to provide free Naloxone through the mail. Adrienne Hurst from our Overdose Prevention Program spoke to Wisconsin Public Radio's Danielle Kaeding: "These communities have been heavily impacted by discrimination, racial discrimination, traumatization, incarceration, the war on drugs (and) family displacement."
