Our Employee Spotlight begins with restorative yoga, two fluffy dogs named Fizzgig and Gin, and a five-country, twelve-city journey that eventually brought WWE 2K Producer Ashley Koons to Vancouver, British Columbia.
As the production lead for Character Art and Tech Art, Ashley keeps their teams on time, on budget and in sync with the rest of the studio. As a champion for feminist causes and LGBTQIA+ issues, Ashley works to bring diverse voices and perspectives to an industry that is still evolving to reflect the diversity of its players.
About her role on WWE 2K, they say: “I love being a part of such a key team, without our work there would be no characters in the game! I also love representing a woman's point of view.”
And about working in gaming? “I love the flexibility and fluidity in games. I am always impressed at how quickly we’re able to take community feedback and implement things our players have requested.”
Any words for folks thinking of joining us, Ashley? “Be kind and be open to feedback. Be a clear and concise communicator so people know what you need and can help you get it.”
