Yesterday, Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman announced that participating high school seniors will begin receiving admissions offers from the UWs next week under the new Direct Admit Wisconsin program. Here are some key details to know.
Q: What is Direct Admit Wisconsin? A: Under Direct Admit Wisconsin, qualified high school students from participating schools are automatically admitted to up to 10 UWs without ever having to submit an application.
Q: Who can participate? A: Students must have been enrolled in one of the nearly 350 participating high schools across WI. They must choose to participate in the program & are admitted based upon their grades & coursework after completion of their junior year.
Q: What does a student do after receiving an offer? A: There's no application, no essay, no fee. The offer letter will provide more information, including instructions on accepting offers. Note: A traditional application is required to apply to a UW not participating in Direct Admit Wisconsin.
Q: Why is the program needed? A: Direct Admit Wisconsin can save time, reduce stress, and give students an early start on planning their future. It's all about making the transition to the Universities of Wisconsin smoother and more accessible.
