We met up with John Gray, PGA Head Golf Professional at Native Oaks Golf Club, Valley Center, CA and asked him about his summer junior golf programs. Q: What is one take away you want the kids to have after attending a junior golf program? A: For the beginner, I want them to say golf is fun. For intermediate players, I would like them to know that with some dedication they can compete in high school, college, and then use their golfing ability to enhance their chosen profession. Q: What is one life lesson you learned during your days of junior golf? A: Frustration is a part of golf and life, so we have to learn how to manage those emotions and use them to focus our attention to improve our skills. Q: Why is there value in getting families out to play together? A: Two thoughts that work together. We as a culture spend far too much time in front of screens, such as phones, tablets, TV’s, etc. and not enough time talking and interacting face to face with people, including our families. Generally, people need to be more conscious of their health and a large part of that is getting up and being active. Golf is an outdoor activity that the entire family can enjoy virtually anywhere in the word, it gets us away from our screens, we can enjoy time with family of any age, and we will be active at the same time. It’s a win, win, win! And as a bonus, golf courses are on some of the more beautiful pieces of property. Q: What Troon Value that resonates most with you? On Wednesday we had the honor of hosting the 15th Annual, Troon Associates Cup. ⛳ There were some fantastic scores and it was a great afternoon playing and socialising with our fellow Troon associates. Scoring 204 points, The Els Club won the Trophy for the best Combined Team Score. 🏆 Congratulations also go to Herbert, one of our Greenkeepers, who was the winner of the Individual Stableford, scoring 41 points! 👏🏽 Well done to everyone who braved the heat and we look forward to seeing you all again for the next one! As we celebrate Family Golf Month, we're thrilled to spotlight our EVP of Sales & Marketing, Kris Strauss and his golf journey with his three daughters. From an early age, Baily, Mia, and Macy had clubs in their hands, starting around 5 years old. Though they explored other sports competitively in high school, golf remained a special bond with dad. Now, Baily (23), Mia (22), Macy (19) they still enjoy their love for the game and Kris's approach is still the same; • Focus on fun, not scores • Let the kids choose the music • Treats from the beverage cart are a must • Hitting out of bunkers can be optional (or take two swipes and third can be a throw) • Appreciate nature and wildlife on the course • Always end with a post-round treat and chat These father-daughter golf outings have now become a cherished tradition, showcasing how golf can truly be a sport that brings generations together. By making the game fun and inclusive from the start, this family has created lasting memories and a shared passion that continues to strengthen their bond over time.

Troon’s International division, the leader in providing golf and club-related leisure and hospitality services, has announced a strategic partnership with South Korean company SMARTSCORE, which will see Troon provide advisory services to five premier golf courses across Asia. A collaboration, which underscores its continued expansion in the continent, the new partnership will see Troon International work with Artitaya Bangkok, Artitaya Chiang Mai and Artitaya Kanchanaburi in Thailand, Borneo Country Club in Malaysia and Kingsrock Country Club in South Korea. This partnership aims to enhance the overall experience at Brookside, leveraging Indigo Sports' expertise to elevate every aspect of the club's offerings. “Very excited to join the team with Troon here at Brookside Golf Club and eager to see what positive changes they can bring to the facility,” said Brookside Golf Club General Manager Scott Scozzola. Brookside Golf Club is owned by the City of Pasadena and features two of the best daily-fee layouts in Southern California – the C.W. Koiner Golf Course and the E.O. Nay Golf Course. Designed by famed golf architect William P. Bell, the 36-hole complex is the oldest golf course in Los Angeles County dating back 95-plus years. Brookside’s C.W. We are excited to announce that Christopher Parker has been appointed General Manager of the Cobbs Creek Golf Campus. This remarkable facility in West Philadelphia, PA, includes an 18-hole championship golf course restored by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner, a new 9-hole course, a golf entertainment venue, a practice facility, a TGR Foundation Learning Lab, and a TGR Design short course currently under development. The project, which will be completed in phases over the next three years, aims to serve as a hub for education and golf opportunities for the Philadelphia community. “I am beyond thrilled to be appointed to this key position at Cobbs Creek.
