FutureTech Act ✅ SIGNED! This transformational legislation promotes government efficiency and a smoother user experience when interacting with state agencies, strengthens our cybersecurity posture and supports our municipalities through the Municipal Fiber and Community Compact IT Grant programs. The front door to government is now digital. The vast majority of first interactions with government agencies are now through the web, and the FutureTech Act allows us to modernize our IT systems with this recognition, and a constituent-focused approach. Thanks to Governor Healey and our partners in the Administration for your tireless work on this bill, and to the Legislature for recognizing the urgency and the vision behind FutureTech!

"Have you tried restarting it?" Your IT administrators have heard it all – and they know more about you than you know about them! On #SysAdminDay, take a moment to figure out who yours is and thank them. EOTSS is an IT service provider to the Executive Branch agencies, but we are more than a service desk. We continue to provide a greater IT leadership role and now find ourselves at an exciting crossroads of building on our service delivery while also leading innovation. #sysadmin https://lnkd.in/ecc7sNsd

This summer, EOTSS has been fortunate to host some incredible interns from our state's colleges and universities - and beyond! These young professionals have been able to work hands-on with our staff across an array of EOTSS teams, including Voice, Deskside Support and Strategy and Planning. Secretary Snyder hosted lunch this week to thank our intern workforce for a job incredibly well-done. We are so excited to have the next generation of Massachusetts technical professionals working with us. We hope you'll return to our workforce as employees!

Secretary Snyder was thrilled to join Economic Development Secretary Yvonne Hao, John Werner and hundreds of AI leaders last night in Cambridge to talk about the AI ecosystem in MA. We are so inspired by the incredible energy and brain trust that we have in this state that we love and call home. In addition to the 250+ individuals who have participated in Governor Healey’s Strategic AI Task Force, the AI Blueprint for MA https://lnkd.in/eR4qBtwa is building a coalition to attract, retain and grow AI talent in New England. We’re thrilled to be part of an exciting statewide collaboration between private industry, higher ed and government! Photo Credit: John Werner Photography

Friday was a great day in Deerfield! Secretary Snyder joined the Franklin Regional Council of Governments, the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, the Massachusetts State Police and several elected officials to celebrate the county-wide rollout of the new Commonwealth Interoperable Radio System (CoMIRS). Franklin County is the first in the state to fully upgrade to the new system which will enable more reliable, integrated public safety communications. In collaboration with those in attendance on Friday, the EOTSS Interoperable Communications Bureau has dedicated much time and effort to ensure that sixty Franklin County public safety agencies and over 1200 interoperable users were seamlessly transitioned to the CoMIRS system. It's not a coincidence that we started in Franklin County; we are committed to addressing radio coverage gaps that exist in more rural communities. Phase 1A of the CoMIRS modernization involves over 50 sites spanning from the western portion of Worcester to the westernmost part of the Commonwealth. Much of this phase is under construction and slated to be completed by the winter of 2025. https://ow.ly/rPvQ50SHBfQ

In under six months, the Governor's AI Strategic Task Force, created by Executive Order 629 in February, has already made incredible progress. Yesterday , the Task Force met with Governor Healey at Northeastern University, joined by Mayor Wu to tour their Robotics and Intelligent Vehicles Research Laboratory (RIVeR), and learn more about the cutting-edge research going on right in our backyards. We look forward to reporting on the Task Force's findings in the coming months. https://ow.ly/N0ie50SG1J1

Did you know that EOTSS is helping shape the future landscape of AI? EOTSS has built a “AI sandbox” - a walled-off secure environment in which Executive Offices can experiment with generative AI while ensuring the data entered will not be used to train any public AI tools. While the sandbox is a secure environment, EOTSS requires that all users abide by the AI guidelines and Enterprise Security policies set by EOTSS. Catch up on our Policy for the Acceptable Use & Development of Generative Artificial Intelligence. https://lnkd.in/e9-kV7yS
