The Biden administration has scored significant economic victories, including the Infrastructure and Investment Act, the Chips and Science Act, and the Inflation Reduction Act. VP Kamala Harris will tout these loudly as she seeks the nomination because they represent core Democratic priorities: -- Spending more on infrastructure, clean energy, and technologies considered essential to the country’s future, such as electric vehicles and semiconductors. -- Raising taxes on the wealthy and corporations to support low- and middle-income families. -- Incentivizing companies to manufacture in the United States and maintaining Trump-imposed tariffs on some Chinese goods. But as I write in my latest Trendlines column for Boston Globe Media, for many voters these accomplishment have been overshadowed by the painfully high cost of living.
