Gus Jones has been serving as maintenance supervisor for the Farm Shop at the Ferguson Unit since 2016, after returning to the agency from a brief retirement. During those eight years, Jones and his team have become a family of sorts, and work together to ensure the shop continues to operate efficiently and effectively each day. For Jones, however, the most rewarding part of his job is sharing his knowledge of agriculture and mechanics with the inmate workers who assist him and the team at the shop. Providing inmates with these skills aids in the agency's mission of rehabilitation and leads to future success when they are released. #TDCJ #EmployeeSpotlight #recognition
