🧠It's Medtech Trivia Tuesday!🧠 Your responses to last week's poll were almost evenly split between orthofixation and osteosynthesis. In fact, both answers can be considered correct! 🦴Orthofixation refers to the use of various devices to stabilize bones during the healing process after a fracture. These devices can be internal (plates, screws, rods) or external (casts, splints). It is a somewhat narrower definition than “osteosynthesis”. 🦴Osteosynthesis also refers to the use of internal and external fixation devices, but additionally may involve the use of biological materials, such as bone grafts to aid in the healing process. The answer we were going for is orthofixation, but the broader context of osteosynthesis can refer to the same thing. So, if you answered either option, you're correct! Nice job. As far as the other options are concerned...we made them up! 🤭 Look for future 🧠Medtech Trivia🧠 in the coming weeks.

🌞What a fantastic day at Tegra Medical's Dartmouth, MA location! 🌞 We had an incredible company cookout filled with delicious catered food – think burgers, hot dogs, chicken, spareribs, watermelon, corn, and mouthwatering desserts! 🍔🌭 The fun didn’t stop there! We enjoyed some friendly competition with games like cornhole, bocce, and even tried out a new game called Kubb. To top it all off, we held a raffle with several exciting prizes! Huge thanks to everyone who came out and made this event a success. It's moments like these that make our Tegra Medical team so special! 💙 #TegraMedical #CompanyCookout #TeamBuilding

Tegra Medical is an expert in injection molding exclusively for medical devices. Our applications follow FDA requirements for biocompatibility, including use of FDA-approved lubricants and the highest quality steels. Further, we like a challenge. You can be confident that your injection molded part will be perfect, no matter how complex the geometries nor how tight the tolerances. In fact, we’re so confident of our molds that we seek out only the most challenging molding projects. Basically, our job starts where others give up. If you have a complex molding project for a medical device, we should talk. Along with injection molding, we’d like to tell you about our expertise in advanced orthopedics, keeping sharp parts sharp, and high-volume manufacturing of metal components. We achieved significant improvements in process efficiency thanks to joint investment at the Tegra Medical site in Hernando (USA). 📈 Following intensive training on Kaizen methods, we started to implement different measures. We also carried out a 5S project and defined new standards to optimize the work environment. The site’s enthusiastic employees did a fantastic job and are open-minded when it comes to implementing the relevant Kaizen tools. 🎯 Implementing all measures planned will put us in a position to e.g. significantly boost our OEE (overall equipment effectiveness). 🚀 Together we are inventing success at Hernando, driving productivity and efficiency to new heights! 💪 #LeanManagement #Kaizen #InventingSuccessTogether

We’re proud to announce that we’ve won first and third place in the 2023 SFS Value Engineering Award competition, a group-wide initiative that promotes innovation and improvement across all SFS Group divisions. Representing the SFS Medical Division, Tegra Medical entered two projects in the competition. Our project teams partnered with two leading medical device OEM clients, whose products we manufacture. Our winning teams realized automation and process optimization improvements for a vascular closure device, earning first place, and for a meniscal repair device, earning third place. Both teams achieved major improvements in efficiency, sustainability, cost reduction and production output by automating processes, streamlining logistics, and insourcing manufacturing to eliminate reliance on third parties. Across all SFS divisions, 30 projects were entered into the first round of competition. Read more at https://bit.ly/3W5lD5n.
