  • 🏆 TMH has been recognized for excellence with the ACC Transcatheter Valve Certification. TMH's Structural Heart Program was recently recognized by the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for demonstrating expertise and commitment in treating patients receiving transcatheter valve repair and replacement procedures. TMH is the only hospital in the area to be recognized with this endorsement. The certification is based on an evaluation of the organization's ability to meet standards for multidisciplinary teams, formalized training, shared decision-making and registry performance. Since our Structural Heart Program began in 2012, it has focused on treating diseases related to the heart’s valves, walls and chambers. It is the only program like it in our region, offering the most advanced procedures used to fix the heart without ever having to open the chest.

  • TMH Physician Partners - Neurology recently received seven new, ADA-compliant exam chairs, thanks to funds raised from community support through the TMH Foundation These new exam chairs will benefit all mobility-compromised patients to have safer transitions to the exam table for evaluations by providers. Before, patients had to climb on a fixed-height exam table with a narrow step. Having these new exam chairs prevents the risk of fall for patients when transferring onto the table. Thank you to everyone in our community for the support that made receiving these chairs possible. To make a special donation for Neurology through the TMH Foundation, visit TMH.CARE/neurology

  • Stroke is a very serious medical emergency that occurs when blood flow is cut off to an area of the brain - a literal "brain attack." Without blood flow, brain cells are deprived of oxygen and begin to die. This means abilities controlled by those areas of the brain, such as memory and muscle control, are lost. There is a cure for stroke, but it is time sensitive. Every second matters. If you experience any signs of stroke, call 911. For more information about stoke, visit TMH.ORG/Stroke

  • The results are in! TMH is ranked one of the best hospitals in Florida (again) by US News & World Report! 🏆 Of the 258 hospitals evaluated, TMH was ranked #13 in our state for 2024-2025. “As an organization, TMH remains focused on improving our safety and quality measures in order to assure our patients and community that they can count on us for the best healthcare possible,” President & CEO Mark O’Bryant said. “In addition, we’re committed to fostering a culture that supports excellence, and we are seeing that work pay off. I’m excited that TMH is again recognized among the top hospitals in our state.” We were also recognized in 10 areas of care as High Performing 🎖️ - meaning that TMH was significantly better than the national average for the rated conditions and procedures: ✅ Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) ✅ Gynecological cancer surgery ✅ Heart attack ✅ Heart failure ✅ Hip replacement ✅ Knee replacement ✅ Kidney failure ✅ Leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma ✅ Pneumonia ✅ Stroke We know this achievement would not possible without the hard work and compassionate care by given our amazing colleagues. Join us in celebrating them today! 🎉 Read more: TMH.CARE/3AagzUw

  • According to the Florida Department of Children and Families, 70 children have died in Florida from drowning in 2024. For World Drowning Prevention Day today, Safe Kids Big Bend wanted to share some important tips to prevent more from occurring: 💧 Teach children how to swim. 💧 Learn basic water rescue skills and CPR. 💧 Wear a U.S. Coast Guard-approved life jacket when boating or participating in other water activities. 💧 Designate a water watcher to be responsible for watching children for a period of time, such as 15 minutes. Keep young children and weak swimmers within arm’s reach of an adult. 💧 Empty inflatable pools after each use and store them upside down. Small children can drown in as little as one inch of water. 💧 Teach children that swimming in open water has hazards that aren't present in a pool - limited visibility, sudden drop-offs, uneven surfaces, currents and undertow. 💧 Make sure backyard pools have four-sided fencing that’s at least 4 feet high with a self-closing, self-latching gate to prevent a child from wandering into the pool area. 💧 Educate your children about the dangers of drain entanglement and entrapment and teach them to never play or swim near drains or suction outlets.

  • Last week, our new medical campus in Panama City Beach officially opened at 1002 N. Arnold Road (located on Highway 79)! The new building includes TMH Urgent Care and TMH Physician Partners – Primary Care. As part of TMH Physician Partners – Primary Care in Panama City Beach (Suite 102), Dr. Laura Yauch, looks forward to helping serve your medical needs when you visit. Dr. Yauch specializes in a “whole health” approach to medical care, with an emphasis on preventative care. She is guided by the idea that a patient is a person – not a diagnosis – and she is driven to help her patients take charge of their own health so they can live their best lives. She takes comfort in knowing her interactions with patients in the office have ripple effects that extend long after their appointments. New and existing patients can request an appointment at TMH.ORG/PCB or call 850-234-3087.
