    𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗮𝘀𝘁 – 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗱𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝘁 I think I’m pretty good at CRM – after all, it’s what I do every day. I also think one of the best things about Sugar CRM is its integrations with other systems, whether that’s customer-facing or back office. For the past decade or so, it’s been common best practice that technologies must work seamlessly with each other to unlock real value, and that remains a high commercial priority. But a recent article in Forbes had me pause just for a moment. Recognising just how fast tech is moving, it admits: “Nobody can make sense of everything that’s happening.” Yes, CRM is at the heart of the stack, but with thousands of other pieces of software and millions of configurations, no organisation will be exactly the same. No team will think the same way. And every change to “how we used to do things” will create some sort of friction or resentment; hurdles which will need a little encouragement to leap over. Forbes writes: “Sales enablement organizations play a pivotal role in driving tech adoption by providing ongoing training and showcasing success stories to highlight the tangible benefits of key tools. Leadership sponsorship and direct personal engagement with the tools are just as essential to foster a culture of technology adoption and ensure utilization across the sales organization.” In other words, a good tech idea on paper only works if sales leaders show the way forward, mentor their teams through complexity and encourage a fearless and optimistic attitude to a changing world. At Sugar, we engage in continuous learning, both at field level and for our sales leaders – including me – because we can all still learn something new. That’s a tough ask: as sales teams, it’s in our nature to focus on forecasting and leads, not learning. So we have separated learning out from the rest of our day-to-day activities. We have one meeting/call for forecasting and deal-specific conversations, and another time carved out specifically for sales team learning. It might cover anything: tech, a podcast, some feedback, book recommendations or a methodology discussion – there’s always room to learn, and even better, to learn together. Today, tech means change is a constant. You must encourage your teams to embrace it. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀? 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻?
