3 weeks ago, Wix fired an employee in their Dublin office when she spoke out against Israel’s treatment of the Palestinian people. Appalled by the mass murders of innocent civilians in Palestine and Israel, Wix employee Courtney Carey condemned Israel’s ‘indiscriminate’ bombings on Gaza on social media. Expressing these views resulted in Carey’s dismissal from the company, which we believe is unacceptable. Boycotting Wix (https://boycottwix.org/) is part of a larger project to divest funds from companies who support the current Israeli regime (https://bdsmovement.net/), which the United Nations believes is an apartheid against the Palestinian people (https://lnkd.in/ey_Yh66m). The BDS call (Boycott, Divest, Sanctions) urges action to pressure Israel to comply with international law. Wix is one of a number of popular platforms on which to develop websites. If your website is on Wix and you want to move to another platform to oppose the actions of the Israeli government, we’d like to help you. Studio Lutalica is offering a 20% discount for anyone who wants to migrate their site from Wix to Wordpress, Webflow or Shopify. While we wish we could do this work pro bono, unfortunately, we are not in a position to do so in the current climate. To find out more, contact us on hello@lutalica.studio or via the Contact form on our website: https://lnkd.in/dKsB-kHj #Palestine #FreePalestine #Wix #BDS #WebDevelopment #SocialJustice

As a remote business, it's really special to share a room with people you work with on the reg but only behind a screen or a Slack channel! Yesterday, the core Studio Lutalica team and five of our co-directors gathered in Edinburgh, with two more joining remotely. It was an inclusive, purpose-driven meeting where every voice was heard, accommodations were made, and we truly connected on a deeper level. We tackled important issues, shared our hopes, and laid out exciting plans for the future of Studio Lutalica. Thank you to Lou Brown, Ruth Faulkner, Lily Hannigan, Susie Cuthill, Kirsty Lunn, Cecilia Righini, Nathalie Combes, Ceysa McKechnie, Hugh O'Keeffe and Alaïs de Saint Louvent. Here’s to many more moments of connection and collaboration! #LGBTQBusiness #FeministDesign #InclusiveDesign #Empowerment #NonProfit #GraphicDesign #WebDevelopment #SocialImpact #DiversityAndInclusion #SustainableDesign #FemaleFounders #SocialEnterprise
What an inclusive, purposed-driven meeting looks and feels like. Yesterday was a meeting of (as many as possible) of the Studio Lutalica directors and team in #Edinburgh. Studio Lutalica is a CIC design studio focused on delivering #InclusiveDesign for feminists and queers, by feminists and queers. And so of course the meeting felt extra special in itself. Here's what I learnt from the day about how to have an inclusive meeting: - Every voice was listened to, respectfully - Lights were dimmed where possible to make the room less glaring - Lunch was moved earlier when energy levels dropped - The agenda was set and expectations were clear, but we altered it as we went to accommodate where the energy was in the room - Regular breaks were had with people taking their own space, stretching, going for coffee - Accommodations were discussed and made for anyone that needed them - An AI notetaker meant we could all be present and no one had to be distracted taking notes Great to get to spend quality time with you Cecilia, Lou, Lily, Ceysa, Susie, Kirsty, Nathalie (and Hugh not pictured). Excited for everything that's to come! Would you any ways to make meetings more inclusive?

💬 ‘Fair pay is integral to advancing gender equality, diversity, and inclusion.’ Last month, Studio Lutalica was officially certified as a Living Wage Scotland employer — but spoiler alert, we always have been. Here's why we think it's important: 🔹 Empowerment: Paying a living wage empowers our team to focus on creativity and innovation, thanks to reduced stress over finances. 🔹 Equity: Fair compensation is a critical step towards tackling the gender pay gap and related pay disparity issues. 🔹 Community Impact: By supporting our team, we also support the communities they belong to. A living wage makes our employees better able to invest back into their communities, fostering a cycle of growth and positivity. We believe in doing things differently and leading by example. 💁♀️ I help women and LGBTQ+ founders and organisations look good in an inclusive and accessible way 🏳️🌈 British Creative Business"woman" of the Year 2023-24
✨ Two weeks ago, I was finally diagnosed with ADHD 🧠 It didn't come as much of a surprise, but it was rather a confirmation that has been empowering, enraging, exciting, heart-breaking and many more feelings — it's been a roller coaster! After being on the NHS waiting list for over two years, I decided to go privately, as I felt I could not wait anymore and I had the privilege to do it. Navigating the world with ADHD, I've come to realize how this unique neurodiversity fuels creativity, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit. Did you know that individuals with ADHD are 300% more likely to start their own business? This statistic resonates deeply with my personal journey. The challenges I faced in traditional settings — and perhaps my issues with authority 😅 — pushed me to carve out my own path, embracing the unpredictability, creativity and innovation that ADHD brings. At Studio Lutalica, we celebrate neurodiversity and its power to drive change. By understanding and leveraging our unique strengths, we do our best to create inclusive environments where everyone thrives. I often speak to other entrepreneurs, and when I mention I have ADHD, I often get told 'me too'. Yet, I don't feel like we talk about this a lot in professional/business spaces. Has neurodiversity impacted your professional journey? I'm curious to hear your stories in the comments! 👇 #ADHD #Neurodiversity #Entrepreneurship #Inclusion

We're proud to share a resource featuring community-led research to support transgender, non-binary, and gender-fluid people in the workplace. - 73% of trans and non-binary people experience transphobia when seeking employment. - 80% of trans people and 88% of gender-fluid people of colour face harassment from colleagues. - Many trans people feel disconnected from their "true self" at work Fostering inclusion and affirmation for people of all gender identities is crucial. We're grateful to everyone who co-produced this resource, including Dr Anna Kane Dr Lilith A.
