This strategic partnership will bolster the #battery supply chain in the #UnitedStates by securing up to 100,000 metric tons of lithium from ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, and the procured #lithium will be used in battery #manufacturing across the region. SK On currently operates SK battery America and is actively expanding its presence through joint ventures in #Georgia #Tennessee and #Kentucky. We are pleased to share that SK On, in collaboration with a research team from The University of Texas at Austin, has developed a new polymer electrolyte known as SIPE (Single-Ion conducting Polymer Electrolyte) for lithium metal batteries. The integration of #SIPE into next generation batteries is expected to significantly accelerate the battery development, making it more suitable for mass production, enhancing charging speeds, and offering numerous other benefits.
